The San Antonio Murder Rate
According to the FBI, 117 people were murdered in the San Antonio area (Bexar County) in 2009 giving the San Antonio area a murder rate of 7.08 murders per 100,000 people. In 2008, this murder crime rate was 8.51 per 100,000 people in the San Antonio area. Surrounding counties with significantly smaller populations also had lower murder rates. Guadalupe County for example had a murder rate of 3.31 per 100,000 people in 2009.
