You might have guessed that Mexico is the number one country of birth for legal permanent residents living in the United States, but did you know that China, India, and the Philippines make up the next three top countries? To find out where these green-card holders live, just check the Immigration section of the Demographics tab on PolicyMap. We just updated our Department of Homeland Security green card data for 2010. You can find out the number of each immigrant group that lives in each state, the percentage of immigrants from that country that live in each state, and the percentage of immigrants that make up each state’s immigrant population.
