New Up-to-date CDFI Fund Eligibility Areas

PolicyMap has refreshed our Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund Eligibility data to reflect the newest release from the U.S. Treasury. CDFIs nationwide use these areas to determine their target markets for the CDFI Program, channeling federal resources to low-income people and communities through economic development, affordable housing, and financial services.

Tracts are deemed eligible based on poverty, median family income, unemployment, population loss, or their location within a HUD Empowerment Zone. As of February 2013, the CDFI Fund now determines this eligibility for census tracts based on the 2006-2010 American Community Survey. The data are displayed on PolicyMap using 2010 tract boundaries. For more information on the program and how eligibility is calculated, visit the CDFI Fund website.
