PolicyMap is a national online mapping tool and platform that enables government, commercial, non-profit and academic institutions to access data about communities and markets across the US. It is used for research, market studies, business planning, site selection, grant applications and impact analysis. We offer access to the PolicyMap tool through subscriptions and enterprise access, license the underlying data in our platform and help organizations and companies bring interactive mapping to their own websites. Launched in 2008, PolicyMap now has hundreds of customers, including federal, state and local government agencies, major universities, non-profit organizations, and commercial firms most notably in health care. PolicyMap is a Benefit Corporation founded on the belief that data has the power to change communities and markets.

POSITION SUMMARY

PolicyMap seeks a collaborative, creative and resourceful Marketing Associate to support all aspects of the organization’s marketing efforts across digital, email, social, and traditional channels. The Marketing Associate will report to the Director of Marketing and assist with content marketing, digital advertising campaigns, social media management, and data collection. The Marketing Associate will also manage inbound leads in the earliest stages of the sales funnel.

Since March of 2020, and in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, PolicyMap staff has worked remotely full time. Our office in Center City Philadelphia remains open for team members who wish to work in the office from time to time. Going forward, our intent is to continue to offer a dynamic work experience where employees can work from the location of their choosing while being held accountable for achieving goals. We value the collegiality and energy that comes from working together in person and intend to have in-person meetings in the Philadelphia office on occasion going forward. This position will require occasional commuting to the Philadelphia office

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General Marketing & Sales Support

  • Understand PolicyMap’s key markets, customer use cases, competitors and company goals
  • Enforce overall consistency of design and branding across all marketing materials
  • Collect data on and communicate with new inbound leads
  • Keep PolicyMap brochures up-to-date, both as PDFs and in printed form for trade shows

Content Marketing

  • Assist in editing and updating website content including static pages, blogs, press releases, and whitepapers
  • Update client-facing advertising collateral, reports and presentations
  • Successfully execute SEO tactics, including ongoing evaluation of keywords, content and metadata, and link building
  • Help organize and produce of webinars as needed for sales team

Digital & Email Marketing

Support the production of our monthly newsletter and assist sales with content for targeted email campaigns

Help develop creative for LinkedIn and Google ad campaigns

Social Media & PR

  • Maintain PolicyMap’s presence on social media channels including Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • Manage and report on social media engagement including creating and implementing engaging content as well as facilitating social media conversations with customers
  • Oversee PolicyMap’s profiles on industry websites such as G2, Capterra, etc.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate degree in sales, marketing, communications or similar field preferred (new graduates are welcome to apply)
  • 1-2 years of experience in sales, marketing, advertising, event, or retail-related settings are an asset. Internship experience and previous entry level experience will be considered as working experience
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Proven organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a cross-functional team
  • Experience in blogging and social media
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics, Google Data Studio, Google Adwords
  • Working knowledge graphic design best practices, and familiarity with Canva or Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Familiarity with WordPress or another Content Management System (CMS)
  • Familiarity with current public policy issues and community development concerns
  • Experience working in public relations is a plus
  • Experience running paid advertising campaigns is a plus
  • Relevant agency, in-house marketing, or sales experience is a plus
