PolicyMap speaking to area planners this Friday May 20th!

This Friday May 20th PMapper Maggie McCullough will be speaking to area planners at the Delaware Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) at an event entitled Good Data Drives Good Decision-Making: Leveraging 2010 Census Data and Beyond. Maggie will provide an overview of data most useful to planners, describe changes in the 2010 Census, and provide a framework for how data can be accessed and used in local and regional planning. She will be joined by:

Lois Greco from the Wells Fargo Regional Foundation, speaking about incorporating data into neighborhood planning and;

Kennen Gross from TRF Policy Solutions, speaking about data related to food access.

The Louisiana Housing Finance Agency uses PolicyMap as a platform for increasing transparency and sharing information about all of their investments – across all funding streams – with staff throughout the agency. These interactive maps currently live on their intranet page. Over time, they hope to share this tool with other local agencies and their public.

The American Library Association was created to provide leadership for the development, promotion, and improvement of library and information services and the profession of librarianship in order to enhance learning and ensure access to information for all.

We’ll be at the ALA Annual Conference in Washington DC at the Washington Convention Center between Friday (6/25/10) till Monday (6/28/10).
