112th Congress Now on PolicyMap

Last Monday, we had an interesting task on our schedule: “Fix Congress.” At PolicyMap, we’re nothing if not ambitious, but the job at hand was quite a bit easier than ending Washington gridlock—it was time to update PolicyMap’s database of current U.S. Representatives and Senators. At noon on Inauguration Day, the websites of the House of Representatives and Senate were updated to reflect the 112th Congress, and PolicyMap was updated accordingly.

With the new Congress, we’ve added a new feature: representatives and senators will now have their name followed by their party affiliation. You can see the new congressional members on the Set Location bar and in the reports. You can also overlay Congressional boundaries, district label, and representative on the map page. Just select Map Options on the bottom of a map and check off Congressional Districts.
