Mark Zandi, Board Chair
Moody’s Analytics
Mark Zandi is the chief economist of Moody’s Analytics, where he directs economic research. Moody’s Analytics, a subsidiary of Moody’s Corp., is a leading provider of economic research, data and analytical tools. Dr. Zandi is a cofounder of Economy.com. Dr. Zandi is on the board of directors of MGIC and is the lead director of PolicyMap, a data visualization and analytics company, used by policymakers and commercial businesses.

He is a trusted adviser to policymakers, and an influential source of economic analysis for businesses, journalists, and the public. Dr. Zandi frequently testifies before Congress and conducts regular briefings on the economy for corporate boards, trade associations, and policymakers at all levels.
Dr. Zandi is the author of Paying the Price: Ending the Great Recession and Beginning a New American Century, which provides an assessment of the monetary and fiscal policy response to the Great Recession. His other book, Financial Shock: A 360º Look at the Subprime Mortgage Implosion, and How to Avoid the Next Financial Crisis, is described by The New York Times as the “clearest guide” to the financial crisis. Dr. Zandi is the host of the Inside Economics podcast.

Saul Behar

Saul Behar is a senior executive and strategic advisor with deep cross-functional expertise in legal, real estate, fundraising, external relations, and corporate governance matters, and with a passion for tech-based economic development and inclusive growth.

Most recently, Saul served as General Counsel and Senior Vice President, Strategic Initiatives at the University City Science Center in Philadelphia. During Saul’s 15-year tenure at the Science Center, he was responsible for all legal and corporate governance matters and led the organization’s initiatives in STEM education and workforce development. Earlier, he also led all activities in fundraising (public and private) and government and community relations.
Prior to joining the Science Center, Saul was a partner at Wolf Block LLP in Philadelphia. Before that, he served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary at Provident Senior Living Trust, a privately owned real estate investment trust based in Princeton, New Jersey that owned 68 senior housing facilities in 19 states. Before joining Provident, Saul served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary at Keystone Property Trust, an NYSE-listed real estate investment trust headquartered in West Conshohocken, Pennsylvania that focused on industrial real estate. Both Provident and Keystone were highly successful firms that were acquired by the leading companies in their industry sectors. Earlier, Saul served as senior counsel at Pep Boys in Philadelphia. He began his career at Dechert Price & Rhoads (now Dechert LLP) in Philadelphia.
Saul graduated from Cornell University and The University of Chicago Law School. In 2023 he was appointed Board Chair of Reinvestment Fund (RF), a mission-driven community development financial institution (CDFI) headquartered in Philadelphia, with offices in Atlanta and Baltimore. Since its inception in 1985, RF has provided over $2.4 billion in financing to strengthen neighborhoods, scale social enterprises, and build resilient communities across the nation. Saul joined the RF board in 2016 and has served as Chair of the Audit Committee and as a member of the Loan Review Committee.
Saul also serves on the boards of RF Impact Advisers, a state-registered investment adviser, and The Village of Arts and Humanities, a nonprofit that provides arts-based opportunities for self-expression and personal success that engage youth and their families, revitalize physical space, and preserve Black heritage. Additionally, Saul is a current board member (and former Board Chair) of the Lower Merion Township Scholarship Fund.

Donald Hinkle-Brown

Donald Hinkle-Brown is President and CEO of Reinvestment Fund, a national mission-driven financial institution committed to making communities work for all people. It brings financial and analytical tools to partnerships that work to ensure that everyone has access to essential opportunities.

Mr. Hinkle-Brown is widely recognized as an expert in mission investing and capacity building through his work developing new programmatic initiatives, raising capital, and creating new products that improve opportunity, equity, and health for underserved people and places. Under his leadership, Reinvestment Fund has been at the forefront of the movement for equitable food access, first as manager of the Pennsylvania Fresh Food Financing Initiative and then as one of the architects of replications of this initiative in other states, including the federal Healthy Food Financing Initiative.
He has also been instrumental in shaping strategies that leverage efforts at the intersection of health and community development to build thriving communities, including Reinvestment Fund’s pioneering multi-sector initiative in partnership with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Invest Health. Mr. Hinkle-Brown provides his expertise to many community development loan funds, community organizations, and students, demonstrating a strong personal commitment to building the capacity of peer organizations, community partners, and the next generation of community development professionals.
Mr. Hinkle-Brown most recently served as Chair of the Community Advisory Council for the Federal Reserve Board. Closer to home, he serves as a board member to Reinvestment Fund affiliate, PolicyMap. Mr. Hinkle-Brown has served as adjunct faculty at Temple University’s Geography and Urban Studies program and the University of Pennsylvania’s City Planning Department. He holds an M.B.A. from the Fox School at Temple University in Real Estate and Urban Planning as well as a B.A. in Economics. Mr. Hinkle-Brown has been on the Company’s Board since 1998 and his present term expires in 2022.

Sarah Flaccavento

Sarah Flaccavento is the Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at AlphaSense, the leading market intelligence and search platform used by the majority of the S&P 500. In her role, she leads strategic execution across AlphaSense’s broad portfolio, including M&A integration and go-to-market strategies.

Prior to joining AlphaSense, Ms. Flaccavento spent over 13 years at S&P Global in a variety of strategy and commercial leadership positions; most recently, she was the global head of the Commercial Product & Program Management function, overseeing complex projects including product migrations, product-led growth initiatives, sales process optimizations, and more. She also serves on the board of the Bronx Children’s Museum in New York City.

Jay Mossman
AKUVO
Jay Mossman is the founder and CEO of AKUVO, a leading provider of collections and credit risk technology. In 2015, he sold his last company, Akcelerant, to Temenos and led the North America team until 2019. Jay is also an investor through his investment holding company, NRT Holdings. His investments and board participation are wide-ranging in real estate, technology, apparel, and food and beverage industries.

Jay’s career began at Mellon Bank, followed by roles at RepublicBank and BankOne. In 1998, he founded a financial software company, which sparked his entrepreneurial journey that led to six successful ventures, creating over $100 million in value. He has received numerous awards during his career, such as Turnaround Entrepreneur of the Year by Inc. Magazine and citations from the Pennsylvania Senate and House. Jay is currently writing a book called “Packing for Life’s Journey…What’s in Your Suitcase?”

Jaron Waldman

Jaron Waldman is a seasoned technology developer and entrepreneur, currently serving as Chief Product Officer at Cohere, a builder of foundation Large Language Models. He previously founded several companies, including Curbside, which Rakuten Group acquired in 2018, and Placebase, acquired by Apple in 2009.

At Apple Jaron led an engineering team responsible for creating the company’s global location services infrastructure underlying user positioning, navigation, and maps which is now deployed in over 2 billion iOS devices. Jaron combines his track record of building at the leading edge of developer-facing products with leadership of global technology businesses, also having served several years as CEO of a Rakuten Group company.

Bob Keith
The Philadelphia Citizen
Bob Keith is Chairman of the Board of The Philadelphia Citizen, a not-for-profit internet publication that focuses on regional issues and people. He also invests personally in early-stage companies.

Bob is a co-founder of TL Ventures, an early-stage technology focused venture capital firm, and was CEO of the management company. Prior to that, he was with Fidelity Bank in Philadelphia, a leading regional commercial financial institution, for 22 years. He oversaw significant growth and market expansion during his tenure, as well as entry into new service markets such as investment banking. He left the bank in 1989 to become a venture-capitalist, at which time he was Vice Chairman responsible for most of the bank’s commercial lending and non-banking subsidiaries.
Bob served as a Director and Chairman of the Board of Safeguard Scientifics, Inc. (NYSE: SFE) helping to guide the company through the challenging transition from the excesses of the late 1990s. He also served on the board of directors of Internet Capital Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: ICGE) from 1996 until 2010 and was Chairman from inception until 2001. Bob served on the board of the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) from 2000 to 2004.
Bob was formerly Chairman of the Board of The Reinvestment Fund, a not-for-profit community investment institution in the mid-Atlantic region which focuses on rehabilitating neighborhoods, real estate, charter school lending, and renewable energy. He also served as Chairman of Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania, a seed-stage financing source.
