As a resource for accessing geographic indicators from dozens of federal agencies, PolicyMap is a crucial tool for federal depository librarians across the country. We’re therefore excited that we’ll be featured at the 2018 Federal Depository Library Conference!

The Federal Depository Library Conference is an annual gathering of Federal depository librarians and colleagues from around the country, hosted by the U.S. Government Publishing Office. It’s being held this year on October 22-24, at the DoubleTree Hotel in Arlington, Virginia.

John Stevenson, the head of the Multimedia Collections & Services Department at the University of Delaware, will be giving a presentation all about using PolicyMap to access federal data. Here are the details:

Using PolicyMap to Access Federal Data
Wednesday, October 24
9:30 – 10:30
Washington Ballroom

John Stevenson, Head, Multimedia Collections & Services Department, University of Delaware, Hugh M. Morris Library

Many librarians are uncomfortable with data and mapping. PolicyMap uses data from both U.S. federal and proprietary sources and makes it easy to visualize. Beginners can quickly georeference points of interest and build maps to guide or support their research. While PolicyMap is a subscription-based service, free trial accounts that turn into limited access accounts are available. If possible, a hands-on component will allow participants to establish trial accounts and test drive this popular mapping application.

We’ll be there as well, ready to talk to you about how PolicyMap can help your library. We’d also love to hear from current subscribers on how PolicyMap has helped them! Stop by our table and say hi!
