The Share feature allows users to share maps with other PolicyMap users or the public in a variety of ways.
Link allows users to quickly create a URL link to share with others. This link will open the map to the exact location of the map with all the data and any customization done to the data.
Email sends that link to another user or multiple users. Users can write a custom message with the link.
Embed Map allows users to add an interactive map onto their own website or forum. You can see many examples on the Mapchats Blog
Embedded Maps have many of the same functions as the Maps tool; users can pan around the map and select a point or layer for more information.
Users can choose one of the three default size options or enter custom size that best fits their needs. The map title and legend are optional.
The Embed Map feature will give a simple HTML iframe code that can be added onto a website. Learn how to customize embed maps here.
Social allows users to share maps on their Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn pages. These shared posts will have an image of the map and data, link back to PolicyMap, and let users add additional text.
Share can be used with any of our public datasets, over 80% of the data on PolicyMap. When you share a map, you are able to share certain map customizations including: custom ranges, colors, boundaries, specific geographies, and more.
Subscribers can share point datasets which they have loaded using the Data Loader. The datasets must be made available to the public.
