Philadelphia Childcare Map
To create an accessible platform for identifying gaps in childcare access, the William Penn Foundation supported an analysis using locally available data. The results of the analysis were put on a PolicyMap Integrated Mapping Tool, along with other helpful indicators showing the number of young children and existing childcare resources, like certified and uncertified childcare centers, and Head Start centers. The tool also uses other data to show potential locations for new childcare facilities, like previously certified centers and for-sale school district buildings.
This gave providers a tool for siting new child care centers, gave investors and policymakers a tool for targeting resources to increase high-quality childcare access, and gave parents a tool for finding high-quality childcare centers near where they live and work.Click here to see the Philadelphia Childcare Map
CultureBlocks is a free mapping tool that supports the arts and cultural community in Philadelphia and supports people making decisions about place and creativity. The site is powered by PolicyMap and was developed in partnership with the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy (OACCE), the Department of Commerce, and the Social Impact of the Arts Project (SIAP).
